The following contains spoilers for Season 1 of Black Summoner, now streaming on Crunchyroll.
Black Summoner was an isekai anime adventure of the Summer 2022 anime season, following protagonist Kelvin the summoner in his free-form adventures through an unnamed isekai world. Kelvin treated the whole thing like a video game, but unlike isekai game heroes like Leon Bartfort or Katarina Claes, Kelvin doesn't have the benefit of meta-knowledge. Unraveling this fantasy world's mysteries hasn't been easy.

Season 1 of Black Summoner ended on a triumphant but sudden note, leaving many plot threads dangling for Season 2. For now, fans are bursting with questions -- and the payoff could be huge if Season 2 can answer them. There's still much to see and learn, and more characters to meet.

Will Kelvin Reincarnate Anyone Else After Rion?
There's always something that summons the isekai hero to a new world, and Truck-kun is often the agent who gets the job done. In Black Summoner, the reincarnation goddess Melfina oversees this supernatural journey; after gaining her own body, Melfina granted Kelvin the ability to reincarnate people from Earth at will. The protagonist summoned a middle school-aged girl named Rio Saeki, nicknamed Rion, and saw her as a foster sister.

Kelvin doesn't have to stop there, though; he has the skills and magical power to reincarnate another friend from Earth, and given his hobby of collecting friends like Pokémon, he just might. The question is merely when he will do this, and what sort of person he will reincarnate next. It's a total lottery though, since Kelvin can't choose his own reincarnation target.

What Happened With the Elf Village and the Dragon?
The elf village chief Nelras gave Kelvin's party a rough overview of what happened to the elf tribe before they moved here from the western continent, but some key details were left out. For example, why did the fire dragon attack the elves in the first place? Was it for revenge, or just to satisfy its hunger with elf meat?

The dragon was placated when the elf lady Lumil offered herself as the dragon's bride in exchange for peace, but soon her dead body was found, and the dragon attacked once again. The story of Lumil, who may in fact be Efil's mother, still has some gaps in it, and Season 2 just might fill them in someday. It's not even clear if Lumil's killer was her dragon companion or another, currently unknown party.

What Will Happen Next In The Trycen War?

Late in Season 1 of Black Summoner, the militaristic nation of Trycen launched an all-out invasion of its neighbors in an effort to conquer the entire continent. Three of Trycen's top five generals voted in favor of war -- including the sleazy general Clive -- and despite Kelvin's party's victory in Episode 12, the war is just beginning. Kelvin may have bought the elf tribe time, but most of Trycen's generals are ready for combat, and they may have better tactics than general Clive did.
Kelvin must stay on high alert as the next incursion could take place anywhere, and who knows which town, city or tribe will be threatened. This war might define the entire story of Black Summoner Season 2, and it's anyone's guess how Kelvin will end the war and restore peace. Negotiating a treaty with these Trycen generals and their emperor won't be easy.
Who Will Be Kelvin's Opponents In The S-Rank Battle?

Episode 12 of Black Summoner concluded the season on a high note, but Kelvin is already in for another fight. King Gaun invited him to fight a formal battle against other S-rank adventurers to celebrate Kelvin's promotion to rank S in style, and he can't wait for this friendly but fierce battle. No doubt this clash will take place early in Season 2, and Black Summoner fans may be wondering what Kelvin is in for.
Kelvin may be OP, but rank S is no joke, and he may finally be pushed to his limit in this upcoming fight. Fans can't wait to see what sort of characters will be introduced in this high-stakes battle and what kind of awesome magic they are capable of. These characters might expand Black Summoner's combat system and/or worldbuilding in unexpected ways.

What Will Toya's Party Do Next?

Kelvin realized he was not alone when he came across a red-headed isekai adventurer named Toya and his three party members in the nation of Toraj. Toya and his friends never died; they were directly summonedBlack Summoner's world when priests of the Deramis nation used a ritual spell to teleport them there. The party is doing its best, but they're not yet on Kelvin's group's level, and all four of them look up to him as a role model and an isekai hero.
Toya's party is going its own way for now, but perhaps they will be seen again -- and they might even help Kelvin defeat Trycen. They are actually more compelling than Kelvin's own band due to each member having so much room to grow, so Season 2 would do well to feature Toya's group at least once.
